Lactose-Free Milk
Lactose-free milk range: whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed
Our lactose-free milk range offers the full flavour and nutritional value of traditional milk, available in three varieties: whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
What is lactose-free milk and how does it differ from traditional milk?
Lactose-free milk is cow’s milk to which lactase is added. Lactase is an enzyme used as a processing aid that helps break down lactose into two simpler sugars: glucose and galactose. As a result, milk is easier to digest for people who have difficulty digesting lactose. This process does not affect the quality of the milk or its nutritional value.
Does lactose-free milk contain the same calcium and protein as traditional milk?
Yes. Lactose-free milk from Central Lechera Asturiana contains the same levels of calcium, protein and vitamins as traditional milk, providing the same nutritional benefits.
Types of lactose-free milk: which one should you choose?
- Whole lactose-free milk: retains all the milk’s fat, with a fuller and creamier taste.
- Semi-skimmed lactose-free milk: lower fat content while maintaining its nutritional value.
- Skimmed lactose-free milk: a low-fat option with the same calcium and protein content.
Culinary uses: what can lactose-free milk be used for?
Lactose-free milk is as versatile as traditional milk and can be used in all types of recipes:
- Breakfast and smoothies
- Cooking and baking
- Coffee and hot drinks
Use it in the same way as traditional milk, with easier digestion.
