Central Lechera Asturiana launches a collaborative creation project with the Asturias hostelling industry to select the most outstanding recipe based on cream sauce that evokes the flavours of Asturias.
Asturias, the land of exquisite flavours, is characterised by its gastronomic diversity and richness, the high quality of its milk and the flavour and tradition of its dairy products. In line with its commitment to innovation, Central Lechera Asturiana is in search of the best cream-based sauce recipe that evokes the flavours of Asturias.
Any professional in Asturias regional cuisine may submit a proposal by 28thFebruary via salsadeasturias.es, with the requirement that the recipe must be based on Central Lechera Asturiana cream and contain no artificial ingredients, in accordance with the brand’s commitment to all-natural products.
In the first phase, proposals will be evaluated by the Asturias Gastronomic Critics Association and also by members of the dairy company’s R&D+i Department in a blind tasting. Of all the entries, the judging panel will choose a maximum of twelve semi-finalists.
In the second phase of the contest, these semi-finalists will be invited to attend (or to deliver a sample of their creation) on 1st April to the Niemeyer Centre in Avilés, within the framework of the 3rd Asturias Gastronomic Clinic. During the day, the finalists’ creations will be tasted in a blind tasting by accredited professionals from the world of gastronomy who will cast their vote in secret. Once the total score has been counted, the three best contestants will be informed of their status as finalists.
The final phase will take place within the framework of the 12th Pinchos and Tapas of Asturias Championships, where a special judging panel, including relevant figures from the world of gastronomy, will taste the three finalist recipes and select “The Asturias Cream Sauce”, which will be marketed by Central Lechera Asturiana.
The professional whose creation is selected as the winner will receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros.
